Steve Jobs, founder of Apple passed away today. I'm not sure from what. The main page has steve on it, click to read about him on apples own website. I only own one apple product, and that is my iPod Touch 3rd Gen. Sad day indeed for many. To me this was unexpected.

He had been battling pancreatic cancer.
RIP.

I use to find many ways to try to keep apple out of my life. When the ipod first came out I refused to buy it. I bought the Dell jukebox instead. I didn't want to have to use itunes. I eventually wound up with an 80gb video ipod which I still use. (Still use the Dell though too but only because I can't get the music off of it and some is original)
I've always been a pc gal. Never understood MAC at all. Then a G4 was given to me. I was forced to learn it since my PC died. I grew to love it. I now own both.
Finally down to the phone... I was a crackberry addict. Again, refused to give in to apple and their genius devices. It took many years for me to give up my buttons and actually switch to a touch screen. I got a deal on an iphone 3GS and I have never looked back. I'm just waiting for Nov so I can upgrade to the 4. Not getting the newest one yet.. just want a cheaper price.
The moral...apple always win. I stopped fighting. Getting an ipad2 for xmas lol But Steve Jobs will be missed. He wanted his products to be beyond anything anyone could ever imagine. He did that. I hope he left his visions some where so technology can move on.

Personally each system has their use and function. Microsoft more annoying... but a PC in general you can build them sweeter than buying a mac, (depending on what you are doing and what use you have) and can run a totally free OS on them if your a Linux user, which now a days is not that hard to use/learn and understand actually. You can run and install pretty much most apps and so forth. I had an iPhone 3GS for over a year or more, but I've also had a Nokia N95 8G which at it's peak the European unlocked was a sweet phone before iPhone came out... now I've moved onto Windows phone, which personally, some functions are just nicer than the iPhone. It's preference and taste at least IMHO coming from an IT professional who's been in the field for many years.
It is very sad to see a very down to earth man pass on. Question now remains is whether or not the Apple company will continue on in the footsteps of a great man. I'll gladly watch the next chapter unfold.

Pretty much the same story as DeadTrish, never had a apple product till I saw a ad for a 80GB ipod video. Went to the store that day and picked on up and loved it. iTunes, not so much. It was a hunk of shit back in the day. Then I picked up a ipod touch when it came out. iTunes still sucked, but the apps where pretty cool. Picked up a iPad 1 and then the 2nd gen version and iTunes still has some quirks that I don't like but it's getting better. Never owned a Mac but I do like the new MacBook Airs and the Pro's just not enough to drop $1500-$2000 on one.
Have camera, will travel.

Well, I did own a MAC once.... It was almost new, got it for free because one of my friends didn't like it because he couldn't add things to it, so he dumped the rest of his $1500 into a PC.
After about a week of use, the MAC OS managed to corrupt itself.
Not saying MAC's are junk
As I'm sure they are more fine tuned now days anyways. I'm a PC buff, and don't think I'll change anytime soon.
