First I have a question regarding fish eye len, if anyone takes/uses one? Other question is do most of you take one len's a basic ranged one or do some take more than one?
I haven't really gotten around to getting other len's just yet (since part of it is availability and money). What I do have is a zoom, but the size and bulk using it you need a tripod, lol. I will be getting a macro lens, just because of the specific photography I want to get into.
So any suggestions for the exploration side of things and what range len's everyone uses?

I just looked at new glass today...still drooling. I'm ready to upgrade. Need some more cash first.
Fish eye experience- I bought a cheap screw on from ebay a couple years ago and all it did was put a ring around my pictures. I have a small little camera I got at clothing store that I use for my fish eye. It's basically just above a disposable except I get to keep the body. It's fun though..

OH and I carry 2 with me at all times. Well most of it

I've taken a wide angle lens with me on a few trips, a wedding, a fireworks show and was lucky to have one during a thunderstorm to get some awesome wide angle shots. I haven't tried a fish eye lens yet, so maybe I'll try one of those next to see how I like it. Right now I'm thinking about getting a wide angle lens (16-35m), as much as I've rented one I could have paid for a nice one it seems.
Here is one of my lightning photo's I took the first of the month.

Very nice picture LS. Ok... Thanks for all the input. I think I know what I'll be going for after my macro lens.

Turns out I did rent a fish eye when I went to Alaska (took too much camera stuff on that trip). I'll upload a few pics later today, and from looking at them I think I'll still go for a wide angle lens next.

Finally bit the bullet and picked up the 16-35mm f2.8 lens. Can't wait to take more photo's with it.
Edit, 35mm instead of 55mm.

I use a 10-20mm as my primary. If I need to zoom, my two feet work fine. True fish-eyes (4, 6, 8mm) are pricey but only work for certain shots. The adapters are cool and under 50 bucks, but depending on the lens you are screwing it on will reduce the great blackness around the pic. When I put it on the 18-55 and zoom a bit to 20-25 I get a full frame shot.
Go for an all around lens, wide to mid telephoto. Sigma, Tokina and Tamron carry great selections.

I rented a 8-16mm sigma wide angle awhile ago and that lens was fantastic. Had to be careful and not get any pictures of my feet in the frame. Think my next lens is going to be either a macro or a nice zoom lens. If I can get a used 70-200 that would be fantastic, used that lens so many times it almost feels at home when I have it attached to my camera. My camera bag and back on the other hand don't like it since it weighs a damn ton.
