Yesterday around 3:30 on Wednesday, January 5th an SQL injection attack was launched on The Walls Have Teeth during a spam cleanup session. The entire staff team was stripped of their administrative privileges and banned, and any posts after a certain date in 2009 were deleted. I was able to restore the database and 15 minutes later a second wave was launched. The attack came from a city just outside of Shanghai and after banning the problematic IP address at server level, the attacks ceased and I was able to restore the backup of the site.

I don't think that any critical data was lost, and after the attack was over I was able to successfully blacklist and remove spam accounts that were created recently.

If you notice anything that seems wrong on the site, perhaps something I missed, please let me know.

You might want to look at that damned admin Chaindrive - she doesn't seem to be able to get her shit together.

That is so fucked up, why would someone do that too us? I mean we aint religious or political.... Urb Exers should be immune, we don't wanna hurt nobody, just take pictured of what they leave behind when they run each other off. :D

Well, heres what I know... the bot that attacked us was automated (all server logs show attacks at exact intervals; 3:30:00 PM, 4:15:00 PM, etc).
The bot found us using a carefully crafted Google query to find forums that vulnerable... and the attacker was in a small town/city outside of Shanghai China. I don't think we've pissed off China... yet. Maybe a few land owners but certainly not any Chinese hackers.
