As of '09, does anyone know if this amusement park is still vacant? I've been doing some research & know the location in which it sits, but from reading wikipedia, & the Fantasy Farm's site which sits next door to Americana, it sounds like it is still there.
I know the Serpent's ride is gone to MI, but what about the rest of the park?
I am/was planning a 2HR trip up there possibly this weekend, but hate to drive 120 miles for nothing.
Thanks.

Alright, I spoke before hitting the good info.
Source http://www.soaphs.com says the park is still closed as of 2010. Couch RV's owns it, just sent a message, asking what all is still there, wish he hadn't purchased both lots. I hope someone that lives in Ohio will respond.

He thrusts his fisted camera high
As he yells out his battle cry
His voice is strong and true

I just saw something saying that it's supposed to be leveled this summer.
Now you can tear a building down, but you can't erase a memory
These houses may look all run down, but they have a value you can't see

Well... I am in Monroe, OH & all is good. The amusement park was a blast, took over 70 photos & also got a bonus abandonment, along the tracks to the park. I am now an official nationwide explorer status since I have gone outside the Indy area, look forward to more trips.

I made a trip to the Cincinnati Subway on Central Pkwy, man I wish there was a way into the sub. I found both main entry's, but their well sealed off. No West-bound entries that I could see.

I did find an entry Sunday when I went back down - though disappointing since they concreted the other end, so I have no idea if it went any further, but bums definitely live in there.

Again, so sad to see an amusement park die.

yeah, its a shame, I just wished I could've gotton to Chippewa Lake before it was demo'd a couple years back, that park was the king of the abandoned amusement parks.
