Hi all. Glad to find a community who loves abandoned/historic/industrial spaces as much as I do! There is an odd beauty to an abandoned industrial property, especially when some of the original machinery has been left to decay along with the buildings. I love to imagine what a place would have looked like in its heyday and try to figure out what function that any remaining machinery once did. I like to think about the workers, their lives, and what they may be doing now, if they're still alive.
Abandoned homes also capture my imagination, having once lived in a house that was over 120 years old. Sometimes they make me a bit melancholy, but they always make me wonder why their former owners left them to the elements. I enjoy imagining what the house may look like if someone bought it and gave it the care it deserves. So many abandoned houses have lovely woodwork, plaster, and wrought iron fixtures that modern houses sadly lack.
I also enjoy doing paranormal investigations in abandoned places, specifically with EVP recording and photography/video. I have caught some interesting things over the years.
I live in southwestern Ontario, in Canada. I was surprised to find so many properties from my area documented here, and want to tell the guys who are doing it, keep up the great work!
I will be uploading a huge load of pics from an abandoned factory in Woodstock, Ontario soon. Just organizing which ones I want to send, out of hundreds I've taken there.
I do wish that people would not vandalize/tag these abandoned buildings though. When I enter a property, I do not tag or vandalize. If I wish to leave a record of my being there, I leave a post-it note with a small drawing, my initials, and the date and usually place it in a drawer or cabinet. So, if any Ontario explorers have found a drawing of a cartoon rat, with the initials 'SM', that's me.

Hi. Glad you found us.
Now you can tear a building down, but you can't erase a memory
These houses may look all run down, but they have a value you can't see

Welcome aboard Rodent, glad to have another like us join up. I can relate to most of what you say, other than I am not a non-believer of ghost, but I need more proof before I'll be a believer, and when one taps me on the shoulder and says "Boo" I will lose my doubts. Up to this point though, my overactive imagination has been the cause of most of my scares while exploring, and the fact that whoever said an abandoned building is silent, was full of shit. But glad to have ya here and look forward to some pics and stories

As he yells out his battle cry
His voice is strong and true
"REMEMBER THE GRANDVIEW!!!!"
