Hi all,

I was a member of ABNF, but typically only a "lurker". This "hobby" has been with me since I was a kid. I live in the Houston, Tx area so there appear to be PLENTY of fertile grounds to explore! I hope one day to post some pics of some of my exploits, but to date they are all in my head...as the saying goes...

To all who post pics so we can vicariously experience these sites, thank you! As I get older, it seems the time to do much exploring is waning....as is the patience of cops and owners of long abandoned properties when they find a (young!) middle-ager tromping around (with the utmost of respect!) their buildings!

But, you know what they say...if it's ingrained in your DNA....

I do not suppose to have more experience at this than most of you, but in the event there are any new explorers coming to the site: a request....PLEASE be respectful of the properties you explore! Treat every trip as if you were visiting your best friend's grandparents home. It may be abandoned, it may be trashed, it may be weather-worn...but it meant something to someone at one time and is full of history and memories for someone. Besides that, it's just good form....:D

Welcome! :)
Now you can tear a building down, but you can't erase a memory
These houses may look all run down, but they have a value you can't see
