Are you using rechargeable batteries?
I'm getting pretty miffed, as some of the digital cameras seem to suck energy, like a hummer with gasoline! When I worked security on a remote site, I used rechargeables, mostly because they were more handy than the throw-away ones.

My digital has its own rechargable battery, and it stays pretty charged. My first digital (Polaroid) ate batteries like there was no tomorrow.
My two Kodaks that take regular AAs seemed not as bad, but for sure the Canon that I have now is the best.

I have a Canon Rebel XSi, which uses a lithium-ion rechargable. I bought two knock-off brand back-ups just in case, but haven't so far needed them. One charge of the battery is good for at least 500 pictures. Of course, this assumes temperatures are normal and I'm using the viewfinder instead of the Live View mode, etc.

I have two rechargeable LI-ION batteries I keep in my camera bag. I NEVER use rechargable batteries in my flashlight though... they run out too easily.
How do I live without the ones I love? / Time still turns the pages of the book it's burned / Place and time always on my mind / I have so much to say but you're so far away

For my camera it's a cheap digital camera with a rechargable LI-ION battery. It lasts for about 500 shots on my camera. Then I can charge it. I only need the one battery because it last and can be charged when the battery if half full too.

My camera uses rechargeable batteries, it lasts 2 hours without flash, but lasts a good 47min with flash if used constantly, I bought a additional battery, so I have more juice if exploring say a tunnel or something.

I have 2 Mags & use Energizer bunny rechargeable's, I do think when using rechargeable's, the light is a bit dimmer than using regular batteries, however, if you explore alot in the darkness, buying batteries would be a pain to continue buying. IMHO.

My cameras all use their own proprietary batteries, but I also carry 16 Sony 2500mAh NiCad rechargeable batteries for stuff like my audio recorder, flashlight and 430EX flash unit. They take forever to recharge, but I can shoot about 4-5 hours of flash heavy photography with one set of them. I mentioned in another thread that I buy all my camera batteries from eBay. I refuse to give Canon $100+ for a battery for my 1D Mk2n, but you can find an aftermarket manufacturer for nearly any camera battery. I pay $20 for my 1D batteries and they last longer than the Canon ones. My T2i batteries cost me $6 each on eBay.
