Pleased to've found this place =] I've been exploring various abandoned buildings in my area since I was a kid- I'm incurably nosy, and I love learning the history of places in a way that doesn't include simply reading a book. I live in a very rural part of Ireland, so it's mainly famine cottages, old castles, windmills etc round here =]

Welcome! Sounds like you have interesting places to see where you are.

What's a famine cottage?
Now you can tear a building down, but you can't erase a memory
These houses may look all run down, but they have a value you can't see

Hi!
It's basically a cottage which ahs been lying deserted since the 1840s, when the inhabitants either died of starvation/fever or emigrated...due to the famine =]

There's whole villages of them ,here and there

Oh wow. I feel bad for the inhabitants but the fact that you've got all that to explore...that's awesome.
